Labyrinth

Some folks do not support the Labyrinth project because of the suggestion that it has Pagan/mystical routes. We however believe that the apostle Paul showed that if we are wise we can take culturally significant and yet not Godly ideas and redeem them so to speak -  use the following at your digression.

This link is for an online translation of the Cathedral Labyrinth created by London alternative worship groups Grace, LOPE, and Epicentre. The original is described as ‘an interactive installation for spiritual journeys’. It consists of a pathway mapped out on the floor for visitors to follow. During this journey participants pause and listen to a piece of music and a meditation. They also undertake some symbolic action or ritual.

With this online version the pieces of music are the same (make sure your speakers are turned on) but the actions and activities have been translated to suit the medium.

The Online Labyrinth has been created in 11 separate pieces just like the original. You are advised to proceed in order as each piece relates to the next and if time allows complete the labyrinth in one go. This could take 40 minutes.

Download times have been kept to a minimum. With a 56k modem and an average connection of 4.5kbps you shouldn’t have to wait for more than 2 minutes for a piece to begin playing. Most begin in less than a minute. All the pieces stream into your computer and to keep waiting down to a minimum you will be able to begin before the whole piece has loaded. If you experience a pause in sound or animation please wait as more media loads.

Please remove your shoes and click here to begin the Labyrinth
